Submissions for Issue 2 are open

The Magazine

Excision Magazine publishes original short fiction and flash that is precise, self-contained, and confident in its own terms. We are interested in work that does not rely on explanation, trends, or external context to justify itself.

Issues are released quarterly (June, September, December, and March). Each issue typically contains 8–10 works, primarily short fiction, with a small number of flash pieces.

Flash Fiction: up to 1,000 words.

Short fiction: up to 3,000 words.
